From Global Banking to Building Your Perfect Event

EventRentals.lk wasn’t just an idea; it was an innovation born from a career spent managing large-scale, complex transformations. Our founder, Sajjad Jamaldeen, brings over 22 years of high-level experience in the international banking sector, having served as a Vice President at First Abu Dhabi Bank. His experience also extends from holding other key roles at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Citibank and American Express Bank.

In his banking career, Sajjad was a Transformation Lead and Project Manager who specialized in re-engineering complex processes and implementing sophisticated governance frameworks. He was also predominantly involved in strategy and business development for global markets at National Bank of Abu Dhabi (now First Abu Dhabi Bank). Later, he was part of the senior thought leadership and implementation team for the integration of two powerhouse banks in the UAE, focusing on Corporate and Wholesale banking with a specialization in Global Financial Markets.

This deep expertise in strategy, business development, technology, and process management revealed a clear opportunity in Sri Lanka’s event industry. Sajjad saw the need for a streamlined, technology-driven solution to replace manual, fragmented rental processes.

Pivoting from the corporate world, he channeled this expertise into a new passion. He didn’t just fund a company; he built it. During the global pandemic, Sajjad retrained, completing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing, learning web development, and personally building e-commerce platforms.

His commitment to innovation is continuous. Sajjad is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree, an MSc in Business Transformation, to bring the very latest in Big Data Analytics, AI and Cloud-Based Business Solutions directly to the EventRentals.lk platform.

EventRentals.lk | The Kairos Store is the direct result of this pivot. Sajjad serves as our Founder and CEO, having personally built and deployed our e-commerce platform from scratch.

Today, every aspect of EventRentals.lk—from our user-friendly website to our automated processes and our focus on event-specific technology like digital registrations—is powered by Sajjad’s unique blend of high-level corporate strategy and hands-on technological skill. His vision is to transform the industry by making it simpler, smarter, and more efficient for everyone planning an event in Sri Lanka.
